Systematic Theology II

Explore Biblical Doctrinal Foundations

Christian theology is the study of God and the Christian faith, as well as the beliefs and practices that make up the Christian religion. This course will introduce the doctrines of Bibliology, Anthropology and Hamartiology.

    • What theory of Biblical inspiration is most acceptable to you?

Week Four

  • Write Response: 
    • Review the 5 rules of Biblical interpretation. Which ones do you find most important in your study of Scripture?
    • Practice the two methods of Scripture meditation and be ready to share with the class what insights you received.
    • Which of the two methods do you prefer?

Week Five

  • Write Response:
    • Do you agree that understanding of self is important in knowing and understanding God?
    • Write a short paragraph describing your viewpoint the meaning of man’s being made in the image and likeness of God.
    • Which of the views of Imago Dei do you think is most Biblical? Which on are you least comfortable with?
    • Write a short paragraph describing the impact and importance of Imago Dei on the world.

Week Six

  • Write Response:
    • Do you agree that the worst sinner still maintains the image of God? Does that concept agree with your definition of Imago Dei from the last chapter?
    • In a short paragraph with 2 or 3 scripture references, defend you position on the constitution man.
    • Do you agree that God is returning believers to the fullness of what it means to be the image of God? Explain using scripture?

Week Seven

    • Read Session VIII in the Study Guide for Theology II
  • Write Response:
    • What is the significance for the church of the understanding that both male and female were made in His image God, and that both were given authority over the creation?
    • Do you hold more to an egalitarian or complementary view of the gender roles in the church? Give a brief explanation of your view supported by 2 or 3 scripture references.

Week Eight

  • Write Response: 
    • Has the definition of sin changed from the Old to the New Testament?
    • How would you describe Pelagianism?
    • Define prevenient grace in your own words?

Week Nine

  • Write Response: 
    • List the important differences between the Old Man, the flesh, and the body and how they are influenced by sin.
    • Briefly describe the way to victory over sin as taught in the New Testament.

Week Ten

  • Watch Video: Week 10
  • Final Assignment:
    • Select a topic covered in this course and begin writing your Personal Theological Position Paper of 2 to 3 pages.
  • Read:

    • Review the area covering your chosen in topic in Studies in Systematic Theology, Terry King
    • Review the area covering your chosen in topic in the Study Guide

Week Eleven

  • Watch Video: Week 11
  • Final Assignment: 
    • Complete your Personal Theological Position Paper of 2 to 3 pages due within 15 days
